## Overview

- Parter is the AI platform for hardware teams, built around **continuous BOM optimization**: keeping a bill of materials optimized from day one, on autopilot.
- Parter autonomously searches for second sources and alternative parts across the entire BOM. It works through every line, compares candidates, and brings back options a team can actually use.
- Parter connects a BOM to live market, lifecycle, compliance, and pricing data, and flags exposure before it reaches production.
- Used by hardware teams across automotive, defense, and electronics manufacturing, on both sides of the table: OEMs designing and sourcing products, and EMS providers quoting and building them.
- **SOC 2 certified**, following standards for security, availability, and confidentiality.
- Backed by $5.5M in seed funding, selected for the Palantir Technologies Startup Fellowship, and a member of NVIDIA Inception.

## What is continuous BOM optimization?

Continuous BOM optimization is a new category of hardware software, and the category Parter created.

Until now, improving a BOM meant working one part at a time. Someone notices a problem, picks a single line, and spends hours hunting for a second source: reading datasheets, checking stock across distributors, comparing specs, confirming compliance. Multiply that by a few hundred lines and it simply does not happen. Most BOMs are never optimized at all. They are just fixed, late, when a part goes end-of-life, a shortage hits, a PCN lands, or a tariff moves.

**Continuous BOM optimization inverts that.** Parter searches for alternatives and second sources across the entire BOM, every line, autonomously and continuously. Then it hands the team something they can actually act on:

- **Set the goal per part.** Each line can be optimized toward what matters for that line: lower cost, better availability, longer lifecycle, a second source, compliance, or lower tariff exposure. Different parts have different jobs, so they get different goals.
- **Parter does the searching and comparing.** It works through every line against live market, lifecycle, compliance, and pricing data, finds candidates, and puts them side by side against the goal that was set.
- **The human judges.** The team reviews a ranked, pre-compared set of options and decides. No datasheet archaeology, no tab sprawl, no spreadsheet of maybes. Just a decision.
- **It never stops.** The BOM stays under continuous review, so every market change is mapped back to the exact lines it affects, 24/7.

The difference is scope and timing. Component databases and parts search tools answer one question about one part when you go ask it. Continuous BOM optimization works the whole BOM, on its own, and answers the question you did not know to ask yet, on the day it becomes true.

## Core Products

### Parter BOM Optimizer

The engine behind continuous BOM optimization. Upload a BOM in any format and Parter goes to work on every line, not just the one you asked about.

* **Searches the entire BOM for alternatives and second sources.** Autonomously, line by line. AI matches on electrical and mechanical specifications pulled from manufacturer datasheets, then screens candidates against real-time availability, lifecycle status, compliance (RoHS, REACH), and cost, so what comes back is a part a team can actually buy and use.
* **Set a goal per part.** Each line can be pointed at what matters for it: lower cost, better availability, longer lifecycle, a second source, compliance, or lower tariff exposure. Parter compares candidates against that goal and ranks them.
* **Review, do not research.** Options arrive pre-compared and side by side, so the team spends its time judging against real design needs instead of hunting through datasheets and distributor sites.
* **Flags exposure.** Single-source parts, parts heading toward end-of-life or NRND, parts caught in a shortage, parts hit by a PCN, parts exposed to tariff or compliance changes. Each flag arrives with the affected BOM lines and a recommended move.
* Runs from day one of a design and keeps running through production, so a BOM gets stronger over time instead of quietly decaying.
* Cost improvement, shorter RFQ cycles, and fewer late-stage redesigns are outcomes of this, not separate products.
* **Use case:** An engineer uploads a new design's 400-line BOM. Parter works every line, flags four single-source parts and two heading to NRND within the year, and attaches ranked, spec-matched, in-stock alternatives to each. The engineer reviews and approves in an afternoon, before the design is locked and a change gets expensive.

### AI Alternatives Agent

* Verified drop-in and functionally equivalent replacements for any electronic component.
* Matched on datasheet specs, then screened against live inventory, lifecycle status, and compliance.
* Available as a free public tool at [parter.ai/alternatives](https://parter.ai/alternatives) — enter any manufacturer part number and get AI-matched alternatives.
* **Use case:** A sourcing manager finds a part on allocation with a 40-week lead time, and gets three compliant, in-stock alternatives in seconds instead of two days of datasheet cross-referencing.

### Shortage Monitor

* Tracks global inventory in real time across distributors and suppliers.
* Predicts shortages from market signals, before they hit a production plan.
* When a part runs short, surfaces instant alternatives to keep the line moving.
* **Use case:** Stock on a critical MCU starts thinning across every distributor. Parter flags it weeks before it hits zero, so the team secures inventory or qualifies an alternative on their own timeline.

### Lifecycle & Obsolescence Tracking

* Tracks lifecycle status for every part on the BOM and flags parts that are end-of-life, NRND, or already discontinued.
* Surfaces lifecycle risk at design time, while a part choice is still cheap to change.
* **Use case:** During NPI, Parter flags that a connector family is already NRND. The team picks a longer-lived equivalent and avoids a redesign two years into production.

### PCN AI Analyzer

* Instant alerts on every product change notice.
* Automatically reads and classifies the PCN, identifies which parts and which BOMs are affected, and summarizes the impact.
* Delivers the recommended action instead of a document to read.
* **Use case:** A manufacturer issues a PCN buried in a 30-page PDF. Parter identifies the two BOMs affected, the specific lines, and what to change — no one on the team reads the PDF.

### Compliance Check

* Verifies components against RoHS, REACH, and tariff regulations.
* Automated checks across a full BOM with instant, accurate verification.
* **Use case:** Before a shipment to the EU, a team runs a full BOM compliance check and clears it in minutes rather than chasing certificates part by part.

### Tariff & Cost Visibility

* Shows tariff and landed-cost exposure across a BOM.
* Supports sourcing decisions that hold up when trade policy moves.
* **Use case:** New duties land on a component category. Parter shows exactly which BOM lines are exposed and what the alternatives cost delivered, not just ex-works.

### Auto Quote & Source (for EMS)

* Ingests any BOM format, in any layout, without manual cleanup.
* Returns ready-to-go quotes in seconds with live price, stock, and lifecycle data attached.
* Collaborative quoting: share live quotes across teams and partners so everyone works from the same numbers.
* AI alternatives suggested inline to improve margin on every quote.
* **Use case:** An EMS provider receives a messy customer BOM by email, uploads it as-is, and returns a priced, sourced, risk-flagged quote the same day instead of the following week.

### RFQ Agent and supplier portal

Chasing quotes over email is where RFQ cycles die. Replies land in different formats, in different inboxes, and someone has to retype all of it before it means anything. Parter replaces that with an agent and a portal.

* **Build the RFQ straight from the BOM.** Pick parts and quantities, pick suppliers, review the message, send. Supplier contacts are saved and reusable across RFQs.
* **Every supplier gets their own private link.** No account, no password, nothing to install. Each supplier sees only their own parts, not the full BOM and not the other bids.
* **Quotes arrive structured.** Suppliers submit unit price, MOQ, and lead time into real fields, so bids come back directly comparable instead of as prose in an email body.
* **Auto-detect and auto-fill from the supplier's own quote file.** Suppliers can attach the spreadsheet or PDF they already have. Parter reads it, extracts the quote, and pre-fills the form so the supplier only reviews and confirms. Anything Parter cannot extract confidently is left blank and clearly flagged rather than guessed.
* **Quotes land back on the BOM automatically**, updating pricing, lifecycle, and stock in place, and the buyer is notified the moment a quote arrives.
* **Use case:** An EMS provider sends one RFQ to six suppliers from the BOM. Each supplier attaches their existing quote sheet, confirms the parsed values, and submits. The buyer gets six directly comparable bids on the BOM without anyone retyping a single line.

Neither side does data entry. Your team does not retype supplier emails, and the supplier does not retype their own quote.

### Datasheet Intelligence

* Cross-references datasheets instantly across manufacturers.
* Ask questions about a component in plain language instead of reading specs.
* **Use case:** An engineer asks whether a candidate part tolerates the same temperature range and package as the incumbent, and gets a sourced answer without opening a single PDF.

### Always-On Monitoring & Alerts

* Continuous monitoring of price, stock, lifecycle, compliance, and market signals for every part on every BOM.
* Runs 24/7, so risk surfaces as it emerges rather than at the next review.
* **Use case:** A team stops running quarterly BOM health reviews because the BOM tells them when something changed.

## Why teams choose Parter

* **Proactive, not reactive.** Parter tells a team what changed and what to do about it. It does not wait to be searched.
* **Built AI-native.** The AI is the product, not a chat box added to a component database.
* **Alternatives that survive contact with reality.** Every suggested part is screened for availability, lifecycle, and compliance, so it is a part a team can actually buy.
* **One BOM, both sides.** Design, R&D, NPI, sourcing, and supply chain work from the same live BOM, and EMS partners quote against it.
* **Any BOM, as-is.** No template, no normalization project, no implementation quarter.
* **Made for the people doing the work.** Parter removes the slow, repetitive parts so engineers can spend their time on what only humans can do: imagine, design, and build.

## Typical data flow

1. **Upload.** A BOM arrives in any format (Excel, CSV, PDF, or an export from an ERP or PLM). No template or cleanup required.
2. **Match.** Parter resolves each line to real manufacturer part numbers, even when the line is partial, misspelled, or internal-only.
3. **Enrich.** Every matched part is joined to live market data: price, stock across distributors, lifecycle status, compliance, and tariff exposure.
4. **Analyze.** AI reads the underlying datasheets and documents, scores risk per line, and identifies single-source, end-of-life, shortage, PCN, and compliance exposure.
5. **Alternatives.** For every part, Parter finds spec-matched alternatives and screens them for availability, lifecycle, compliance, and cost.
6. **Act.** The team reviews flagged lines with recommended moves, swaps parts, secures inventory, or issues a quote.
7. **Monitor.** Parter keeps watching every part 24/7 and alerts the team when the market changes, closing the loop back to step 4.
